Aims and Scope

NUST Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities (NJSSH) is a double-blind peer-reviewed and refereed journal published by the School of Social Sciences and Humanities, National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad, Pakistan.

The main objective of NJSSH is to provide a scholarly platform for the national and international scholars. It aims to promote interdisciplinary studies in social sciences and humanities and become the leading journal in the field.

The scope of NJSSH is inclusive: it encourages multi and inter-disciplinary work as well as new and experimental forms of research, replication studies, and negative findings. All submissions are evaluated based on their academic and methodological validity and robustness of research. As an open-access journal, all articles will be immediately available. NJSSH follows Creative Commons licenses.

NJSSH is currently a bi-annual journal and is published in both print and online versions.

NJSSH publishes original papers with sound and conceptual frameworks, analytical and simulation models, case studies, empirical research, technical notes, commentaries/perspectives, and book reviews. Special issues devoted to important topics in social sciences and humanities will occasionally be published.

All submissions to NJSSH are reviewed using the general criteria of quality, creativity, originality, accuracy, and contribution to the field. There are several categories of articles to allow for a full range of constructive dialogue:

Review Articles

Review articles by experts on controversies and new developments in the fields of social sciences and humanities. Reviewed by three outside reviewers with the criteria weighted toward quality of the exposition and importance of the issue. Maximum 5000 words.

Case Studies

Case studies if they provide or document new fundamental knowledge in the fields of social sciences and humanities. Reviewed by three outside reviewers with the criteria weighted toward quality of the exposition and importance of the issue. Maximum 5000 words.

Commentary
Essays discussing critical issues are reviewed by three outside reviewers with the criteria weighted toward quality of the exposition and importance of the issue. Maximum 5000 words.

Analysis

Original research articles devoted to analysis of important questions in the field. Reviewed by three outside reviewers with the criteria weighted toward originality, quality, and accuracy of the analysis, and importance of the question. Maximum 8000 words.

Book Reviews
Reviews of recent books in the field. Reviewed by one outside reviewer with criteria weighted toward clarity and accuracy of the review, and importance of the book to the field. Maximum 1200 words.
